About Dr. Isaacs
Scott Isaacs, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E. is a board-certified
endocrinologist and an obesity specialist in Atlanta, Georgia.
He has been on faculty at Emory University School of Medicine
since 1998. He is the medical director for Atlanta Endocrine
Associates and has been listed in Castle Connolly Top Doctors
for the past three years. His peers voted Dr. Isaacs Best
Physician in Lifestyles Magazine in 2010 and 2011. Citysearch,
a leading online guide, announced Dr. Isaacs's weight loss
program as its 2009 "Best of Citysearch" winner.
Jillian Michaels referenced Dr. Isaacs's books numerous times
in her New York Times bestseller Master Your Metabolism. He
has been profiled on CNNHealth.com, livestrong.com, WebMD.
com and many other websites. The American Association of
Clinical Endocrinologists lists Dr. Isaacs's books as a resource
for practicing endocrinologists.
Dr. Isaacs has been featured in countless national
publications including Ladies Home Journal, Better Homes and
Gardens, Fitness, Shape, Parents Magazine, Red Book, Family
Circle, Men's Health, Better Health and Living, Good
Housekeeping, Glamour, The Chicago Tribune, The Atlanta

Magazine, Prevention, Women's World and others. Dr. Isaacs
provides expert commentary on radio and television news
programs including CNN Headline News, CNN Health, National
Public Radio and local NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox news affiliates.
He has appeared as a weight loss expert on TBS
Superstation's Movie and Makeover. Dr. Isaacs has served as
a spokesperson for the "State of Diabetes in America."
Dr. Isaacs is actively involved with the American Association of
Clinical Endocrinologists at a national level, serving on several
committees. He is on the board of directors for the Atlanta
chapter of the American Diabetes Association, Medical Advisor
for Cushing's Help and Support Group and past president of
the Georgia chapter of the American Association of Clinical
Endocrinologists.
Dr. Isaacs attended Emory College and graduated Summa
Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Psychology.
Research from work in the Emory Honors Program resulted in
his first publication in 1991. Dr. Isaacs attended Emory
University School of Medicine, continuing on for his residency
in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Endocrinology, Lipids,
Diabetes and Metabolism where he received a research grant
from the National Institutes of Health and won an award from
the American College of Physicians for a research on diabetes
and obesity. He has published clinical and basic science
research on diabetes, obesity and bone metabolism. His
publications in peer-reviewed medical journals include the
Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Diabetes Care,
Journal of Cellular Physiology and the Journal of Critical Care.
His articles have been referenced and cited in many
subsequent publications including a listing as a primary
reference in the 2006 American Association of Clinical
Endocrinologists and American Diabetes Association
Consensus Statement on Inpatient Diabetes and Glycemic
Control.
Dr. Isaacs speaks nationally to groups in the community,
events and conferences and to health professionals and other
physicians. Dr. Isaacs is a Diplomat of the American College of
Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians
and the American College of Endocrinology.
Dr. Isaacs lives in Atlanta. He is married and has a three-year-
old daughter. He enjoys taking walks in Atlanta, hiking,
swimming, fishing, cooking and learning Spanish.
